Class IX | Suspensions

- A suspension is a heterogeneous mixture in which the solute particles are spread throughout the solvent without dissolving in it.
- The particle size of suspension is large ( less than 10 nm )  and can be seen by naked eyes.
- The solid particle of suspension settle down when allow to stand for some time.
- The solid particle of suspension do not pass through filter paper.
- Suspension are either opaque or translucent.
Example:
chalk and water mixture, muddy water, milk of magnesia, lime water, bleeaching powder in water, etc.
