Class X | Cerebrospinal Fluid

  • Cerebrospinal fluid is a clear, colourless, slightly alkaline fluid present in the ventricles of the brain, central canal of spinal cord and spaces between the meninges. It protects the CNS from shocks and keeps it moist.
  • It also carries harmful metabolic wastes, drugs and othersubstances from the brain to the blood.
  • CSF also maintain a constant pressure inside the cranium inspite of variation in the pressure of blood in the cranial vessels.
